Wow, what a fantastic week it has been for Do You Hear the People Sing? After the enormous success of the choir's performance at Urban Reef on Saturday 26 November 2016, the choir has gone from strength to strength with performances at Falkland Square in Poole on Saturday 3 December 2016 as part of Small Business Saturday and also at AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday for their annual Community Christmas Carol Event.
Over 1000 were in attendance at the Vitality Stadium including the first team footballers, management and the Youth Team as well as members of the community. Do You hear the People Sing? were leading the Christmas carols as well as performing three solo pieces including the hugely popular Do You Hear the People Sing? Christmas Mash Up, written by Choir Director Nicole Dawson.
Sky Sports were also there to record the event and were so impressed with Do You Hear the People Sing? that they asked the choir to record some pieces to camera to be televised. These included a special song just for AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe! It was lots of fun recording the snippets and even more fun watching the choir on Sky Sports News the following morning in the three minute report broadcasted about the event. Do You Hear the People Sing? were heavily featured and are delighted to have now made their International television début!
Nicole was also the special guest on the breakfast show on Hope FM on Tuesday with Paul Kinvig. She was invited to chose two songs that meant something to her and to talk about them and about Do You Hear the People Sing?
The choir were back in rehearsal on Wednesday working on the timely "Seasons of Love" from the musical Rent. With just one more rehearsal to go before the Christmas break, Nicole is also busy auditioning potential new choir members hoping to join in January 2017. Do get in touch for more information or to join.
